Starting your engagement shoot with a cocktail or two is always a plus! Amanda and John asked me to meet them at Better Sorts Social Club, a fresh new bar in Downtown Boston. I immediately fell in love with the modern, jewel-toned decor (omg velvet everywhere yes pleeeease), wood paneling and over all mid-century lounge vibes.

Little known fact: Boston is actually the windiest city in the country, contrary to Chicago’s nickname of “The Windy City”, which was a poke at Chicagos long winded politicians. I spent my early college years fighting the intense wind tunnels to get to class but now I really love the wind in downtown. It evokes that wild mountain top feel in a totally urban setting.

Despite being a major city, Boston can be very small. I loved hearing from Amanda how her and John ended up with each other:

John and I did go to high school together but never connected until after college, Bruins playoff celebrations at our local bar is where we started to bump into each other. Since then we realized how many times we were probably at the same place at the same time, having so many friends in common... even members of our families know each other randomly, so it's just funny we never met sooner! We still find mutual childhood connections and laugh about it. 

Can’t wait to head back to Boston for their big day this summer!
