Spanish Art Village Engagement. San Diego, CA | Jaclyn & Brodie

Jaclyn and Brodie reached out to me in February with the goal of an intimate, non-traditional gathering at The Lion’s Share for their wedding day. Remember the bliss-free lives we were all living back in February?! Where we thought planning anything would be totally feasible?! While Covid naturally snuck in, forcing J & B to pivot and reconsider their plans, we were still able to do their engagement session at a place they love to go together: Balboa Park!  They live near by and frequently take walks together to the park.  The Spanish Art Village is one of their favorite parts and an area of Balboa that I don’t make it too very often, so I was very excited when the suggested it! With so many fun pops of color, every direction you look, it makes for the perfect spot for photos.

Over 6 years together, Jaclyn and Brodie have been on a wild ride together! She shared the story with me as we started chatting about their lives and plans:

We met on Tinder, but he took me to a whiskey bar (Hard Water) in San Francisco on our first date and that pretty much sealed it for me. I moved to Chicago for work shortly after, missed him, came back to SF, then we moved to LA together for his job, SD about a year ago ..  and plan to stay here permanently. We have it all written out on our wedding website: 6 years, 5 cities, 8 apartments, 11 jobs, 3 promotions, and 4,789 miles. Needless to say our time together has been a whirlwind!

These two are so dang sweet together and it was such a nice afternoon hanging out in Balboa Park with them. We all got to show each other some of our favorite parts of the park. I say it constantly, but there is really so much to see there and I’m always finding new spots to get fun, creative portraits for engagement photos.

Despite Covid’s attempts, Jaclyn and Brodie had an AMAZING wedding day that I can’t wait to share with you! STAY TUNED!
